Hello everyone
My name is Leif Steinar Rolland. I had a 16 year long shooting career at international level. During this time i was 3 times in the Olympic Games and shot two finals there. Further i have had two world records (60shots + final). I qualified for 6 world cup finals (the best 10 shooters of the year qualify) and i had 6 medals and won in 1997). I am a multiply world cup medal winner and medals from European Championship. My main event was air-rifle but i did also shoot 50m and 300m.
I started shooting when i was 7 years old and i come from a shooting familly. My father was a shooter and my two older brothers too. One of them is six time world champion. I did a lot of sports as a kid, but ended luckely up with shooting. It was facinating to find out how calm i had to be to be able to hit the dot 10m away. And the joy and satisfaction every time i did it was remarcable. The shooting has taken me to five different continent for competition and coaching. During my career as a shooter i also started to coach. I enjoyed teaching other people and i loved it when i saw people manage to perform what i had just explained. The happiness in their eyes is difficult to explain, it is a must see.
As education i have taken Rifle 1 & 2, Pistol 1 & 2 for the Norwegian shooting federation. I have also ISSF license B. I have travelled around in the world having D-courses for ISSF before it became an online course.
As coach i have been working as national coach in Norway (Senior, junior and parateam), Denmark, Finland and as a technical coach for the Swedish team. I am at this moment the national coach for the Danish team (second time) in rifleshooting an. Further i have been working with national teams in Portugal and Guatemala. I also work with individual atlethes. During my periode i have been working with world champions, european champions, Olympic medals winner, Paralympic atlethes and finalists, world cup medal winners etc.
As a coach i am dedicated and i do what i can to let others have the possiblity to acchieve the same as i did. Remember, it is voluntary to become good and if you do the hard job you will see the magic come.
